LinkedIn job alerts for one company: setup and limits
LinkedIn job alerts for a specific company work by following the company page and saving a job search filtered to that company, and they're free. The catch is timing: LinkedIn only sees a role after it's posted on the company's own site, so the fastest option is a free follow on Find your role first, which emails you within about 15 minutes of a new role in your field.
How to set up a LinkedIn alert for one company
LinkedIn moves its buttons around, so here's the general shape rather than exact clicks.
- Follow the company page. Open the company on LinkedIn and follow it. You'll see some of its posts and, sometimes, its new jobs in your feed and notifications.
- Run a job search filtered to that company. Search for your title, then use the company filter so results only come from that employer. Add a location or remote filter if you want one.
- Turn on the job alert for that search. LinkedIn offers an alert toggle on search results. Pick how often you want emails or notifications.
- Repeat per company, or per title. One alert covers one search. If you want three titles at one company, that's usually three alerts.
Job alerts are free on LinkedIn. You don't need Premium Career for them.
The limits of LinkedIn company alerts
They're useful. They also have a few gaps you should know about.
- They arrive after the company's own site. A role goes live on the career page first. LinkedIn picks it up later, and the alert goes out after that. For roles that fill fast, those hours count. In our job freshness study, 10% of new roles closed within 3 days.
- Reposts look new. Old roles come back with a fresh date. On one major applicant system, 6% of roles that looked new had first been published more than 30 days earlier. A board alert can't always tell you that.
- Not every role reaches LinkedIn. Some companies post only on their own site, or only some of their roles.
- Keyword matching is loose. Searching a company name as a keyword pulls in recruiters and staffing firms that mention it. The company filter helps, but alerts still depend on how the role was tagged.
None of that makes LinkedIn alerts bad. It makes them late and a little noisy.
The #1 alternative: follow the company here
Find your role first reads company career sites directly, every hour or two, so you hear about a role from the source.
- Find a role at the company on Find your role first or open its company page.
- Click Follow.
- Get an email within about 15 minutes of a new role in your field.
You can follow up to 25 companies for free. Where the company publishes an exact posting time, the median role was in our feed 16 minutes after it went live. That's the fastest measured number we know of from any job alert tool.

LinkedIn alerts vs a company follow
| LinkedIn company alert | Find your role first follow | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it reads from | LinkedIn's copy of the role | The company's own career site |
| Speed | After the role reaches LinkedIn | About 15 minutes after we find it |
| Price | Free | Free, up to 25 companies |
| Each email links to | LinkedIn listing | Original posting and apply link |
| AI agent access | No | Yes, over MCP on the $9 plan |
You can run both. Plenty of people keep a LinkedIn alert for the easy apply roles and a follow for the companies they really want.
When you want more than 25 companies
Save a search instead. A title and a place across every company at once, sent as instant or daily alerts. If you'd rather ask an AI agent, the $9 a month plan connects the feed to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Codex. Steps are on Connect. It's the cheapest paid job feed with AI agent access.
Questions
Can you set LinkedIn job alerts for a specific company?
Yes. Search for jobs, filter results to that company, and turn on the alert for that search. Following the company page also shows some of its updates.
Why are my LinkedIn job alerts late?
LinkedIn only sees a role after the company posts it on its own career site, and the alert goes out after that. Watching the career site directly gets you there sooner.
Are LinkedIn job alerts free?
Yes. Job alerts don't need LinkedIn Premium.
What's the fastest way to know when a company posts a job?
Follow the company on Find your role first. It's free for up to 25 companies and emails you within about 15 minutes of a new role in your field.
