Guide

How do I find jobs posted in the last 24 hours?

To find jobs posted in the last 24 hours, filter by the time a role first went live rather than the date printed on the listing. On LinkedIn and Indeed that's the "Date posted: Past 24 hours" filter. For roles straight from company career sites, Find your role first's live pages show every new one from the last 24 hours by role, and you can search them all for free.

The catch is that "posted today" means different things on different sites, and that's where most people lose the hours that matter.

Why the 24-hour window matters

Recruiters read applications roughly in the order they arrive, and a lot of roles stop getting a close look after the first few days. Applying on day one isn't a trick. It's just being in the pile while someone is still reading it.

On LinkedIn

Search your role, open All filters, and set Date posted to Past 24 hours. You can go tighter by editing the address: replace the number after f_TPR=r with seconds, so r3600 shows the last hour.

Two things to know. A repost counts as new, so the same role can keep showing up. And plenty of roles reach LinkedIn a day or more after they went up on the company's own site, or never reach it at all.

On Indeed

Search, then choose Date posted → Last 24 hours. Same caveat: Indeed shows when it found the listing, which can be a while after the company published it.

Straight from company career sites

Every job starts on a company's own career site, usually on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or Workday. That's the first place a role exists. Checking those by hand stops working at around ten companies, which is the problem Find your role first was built for: it reads more than 13,000 of them every few hours and records the hour each role first appeared.

You can see the result without signing up on the live pages, for example new product manager jobs, new software engineer jobs or new data scientist jobs, each with the count from the last 24 hours and the newest twenty. Sign in and you can search every role, newest first, free for 200 roles in your first 30 days.

Make it a habit, not a hunt

Pick a time each day and look only at what's new since yesterday. If you use Claude Code or Codex, connect the feed once and ask, every morning, for "product manager roles in New York posted since yesterday." Your agent does the reading.

Questions

Does "posted 1 hour ago" mean the job is new?

Not always. It can mean the listing was refreshed or reposted. The date a role first appeared on the company's own career site is the reliable one.

What time of day are most jobs posted?

US companies post mostly on weekday mornings and early afternoons, Eastern and Pacific time. Weekends are quiet, so Monday morning is busy.

How do I get these as alerts?

LinkedIn and Indeed send daily emails. For roles straight from company sites, sign in to Find your role first and check newest-first, or let your AI agent check for you.
