About
About our data
Find your role first is a job feed built from companies' own career sites. This page says who makes it, where every role comes from, and how the written pages are made.
Who makes it
A small independent team runs the feed, the site and the posts, signed "Find your role first team". There's no job board, recruiter or ad network behind it, and no company pays to be listed. Write to support@findyourrolefirst.click with questions or corrections.
Where the roles come from
Every role comes from the hiring company's own careers site: boards on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday, plus the career sites of Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, Microsoft and Netflix. That's more than 15,000 companies. We don't copy roles from job boards or aggregators, so a role here links back to the company's own posting and its apply page.
We keep the title, company, location, the date the company gives, the time we first found it, and the links. We don't republish job descriptions; the original posting stays the source. On big-company sites we follow robots.txt, and any company can ask to be removed.
How often we check
Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby boards are checked every 15, 30 or 60 minutes, depending on how often each one posts. Big-company sites are checked at least every two hours. The checks are spread out, so new roles arrive all day rather than in one batch. The live new jobs pages refresh every 30 minutes.
What counts as a new role
A role is new when we first find it on a board we were already reading. When we add a board, the roles already on it count as open, not new, so adding companies never inflates the "posted in the last 24 hours" numbers. Every role carries two times: the date the company shows, and when we first found it. Some companies show an older date on a role that only just went live, so the second time is the one to trust.
What we leave out
The feed covers software, product, data, design, marketing and business roles. Store, food service, warehouse, driving, nursing, cleaning, security and call-centre roles are left out by title, unless the title also names knowledge work, so a retailer's engineers stay in. Private and internal postings that some sites list are skipped.
How the posts are written
The hiring blog, the raises posts and the short overviews on company pages are written each night by an AI model, from a block of numbers taken from the feed. Before anything is published, every number in the draft is checked against those facts; a draft that fails twice is replaced by a plain template. Hiring changes only compare boards we read through both periods, and a day with a collection gap gets no post.
Raises come from SEC Form D filings. A filing shows how much was raised, not a valuation, so the posts never state one. The guides on the blog are drafted with AI help, then checked and edited by the team.
