New roles posted by 3,944 companies dropped 10% in the 7 days to September 28, 2026. This comparison covers 20,746 roles from companies tracked in both weeks, down from 23,003 roles previously. The total new roles across all covered companies was 20,808.

Ouihelp and Destination Careers saw notable increases in new roles this week. Ouihelp posted 379 new roles, up from 163 the prior week. Destination Careers listed 127 new roles, an increase from 34. Centria Autism posted the most new roles overall with 480.

Other companies with significant jumps included Townsquare Media, which posted 99 new roles, up from 4. Encora listed 68 roles, up from 6. Shield AI added 104 roles, an increase from 44.

Engineering continued to lead in team postings with 3,742 new roles, driven by companies like Anduril Industries and SpaceX. Data and AI teams followed with 2,390 new roles, with Bluelight Consulting posting 202 of these. Sales teams posted 1,896 new roles.

Example roles included Behavior Technician at Centria Autism and Senior Mechanical Engineer - Lethality at Anduril Industries. The numbers suggest a slight cooling in overall hiring activity. However, specific companies and teams like Engineering and Data and AI continue to show consistent demand for new talent. Job hunters may find opportunities in these growing areas.
