Amazon posts 465 roles as hiring cools 9%

Hiring slowed by 9% in the 24 hours to 01:59 UTC on October 10, 2026. We recorded 20,192 new roles from 3,647 companies. This change compares only companies we read through both today and the day before.

Amazon posted 465 new roles, the highest volume for the period. Walmart saw a jump to 231 roles from 121 the previous day. Other increases came from INFUSE, which posted 111 roles, and FedEx, which rose from 40 to 102 roles.

Engineering and Data and AI were the most active teams, with 2,777 and 2,236 roles respectively. Amazon listed 108 engineering roles and 77 data roles. Google added 52 roles in Data and AI and 41 in Engineering.

New listings include a Senior Program Manager, Fulfilment by Amazon - Inventory Optimization Services at Amazon and a Senior Director, Communications (Advertising Business) at Walmart. Google is hiring an Evals Engineer, Polaris, DeepMind. EY posted a Technology Consulting Senior Manager role.

These numbers suggest that while total volume is down, specific sectors like operations and logistics are seeing concentrated growth. The data indicates that candidates might find more active hiring at companies like Walmart and FedEx this week.
